Bienvenue!

Tonight, I celebrate a new French dictionary. Due to an overstuffed suitcase, I actually decided to leave my French dictionary in Paris at the end of my study abroad sojourn senior year of college. Yes, I kept three pairs of cords from H&M and a faux fur coat (recently resold sadly) over the French dictionary. Despicable, no? Of course, I'm happy to say that my priorities haven't changed a bit. But, I finally got a new dictionary today with my 50% off coupon from Borders.

We should always support local businesses, but Atlanta is sadly lacking in convenient and well-stocked locally-owned bookstores. How I miss Half-Price!

Bien sûr, after I bought a new french dictionary, we had to watch a french film.
So, I'm also celebrating OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies. Thank you Netflix!

A parody of the original series of spy films in the 1950s with a Jacques Clouseau-esque main character, lots of non sequiturs, and abysmal political naivete.

Of note: ridiculous black and white cut-away scenes of french men laughing and frolicking in the ocean. I'm pretty sure that's going to be the only thing that sticks with me.
Now I have to watch the sequel.

  1. I'm loving the new blog! The picture at the top is awesome. Did you take that?

Also, I think you should teach me French! :) Happy New Year to you, Jazz, and Lars!

P.S. I don't know why, but I also have trouble commenting under my wordpress account. Any suggestions?

  4. I am so embarrassed to say that I have never seen it, although I've heard of it so many times. You've given me a new mission for my weekend though, so thank you! (I just read the synopsis and it looks wonderful:)
