Today, there was a partial solar eclipse. All sorts of people around the world have posted pictures of it on
CNN ireport. Apparently every country but ours could see it. The pictures are spectacular.
If I had known about it beforehand, I surely would have hopped a plane to Sweden to see this momentous event.
But it turns out that not only is 2011 the year of celebration, it also has 4 partial solar AND 2 total lunar eclipses lined up for our viewing pleasure! There haven't been this many partial solar eclipses in a year since I was born (1982). That's what Nasa says.
Anyway, here's a few pics from all those lucky Europeans:

...with a little help from a ball, a flashlight, and some dental floss. So let that be a lesson to you. Don't believe everything you see on the internets. :)
| P.S. If you haven't already noticed, I will be posting at the end of the day, everyday. I tried to double up on Sunday so that there was something new for Monday morning. If you read it Sunday night, then you didn't stick with the plan. :P Just kidding. But as long as none of you people out there are night owls, you can read my celebrations every morning. Also, I know there is a time zone difference and my midnight is your eleven or nine, so let's make this easy and all set our watches for eastern standard time. Okay?

Ok, I think I understand the ball and flashlight, but please explain the dental floss! ;)

P.S. I can comment now with Wordpress! You fixed it!!
Haha yay! Well, the dental floss was just used to hang the ball up so we could take the picture. I'm glad you liked them! :)
