We are having a snow day!
That's right. Since the flurries started last night, we've gotten at least 4 inches of snow
(probably more but that's what we measured this afternoon off our back patio)! And school was cancelled! We're almost living in Siberia over here! Ok, maybe more like eastern europe? Besides being in Russia and besides when I was three, I have never seen snow fall like this. It's amazing. Now I totally get why people get all hyped up about it on the east coast. I want to live where it snows!
We took a little walk around 10:30 last night when we realized that it was SNOWING - there was already a few inches on the ground, and Lars got to see his first snow! He was so excited. And it was perfect then because all the snow was powdery and not wet at all.
At 7:30 this morning it had started to get crunchy because of the freezing rain, but it's still pretty magical. We took a longer walk and got some pictures of all the deserted streets and I made my very first snow angel! How have I lived this long without making snow angels?!
I really can't get enough of this snow. I don't want it to ever go away.
So glad Lars got to enjoy the lovely white flakes - every dog should experience snow at least once in their life! :) And congrats on your snow angel, it looks lovely. ~Erin
ReplyDeleteThanks Erin! I agree, I've been waiting for Lars to get to see snow, but I had no idea that it would happen in Atlanta! :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome!! Love all the pics and love the snow angel. I never knew you went to Russia! When was that?!
ReplyDeleteI'm one who can only take snow in small doses. When it turns slushy and muddy, it's no longer my friend. But it is definitely fun every now and then!! So glad you are enjoying it and getting a day off! :)
Yay for snow! Great snow pics! We don't get it often, but it is so exciting when we do. And having a day off doesn't hurt either. :)
ReplyDeleteAre we allowed to say your name? I've noticed a distinctive lack of it :) I love this blog, keep it up!
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised Pat and I didn't run into you guys last night. We were out too only we strolled down to the traffic light to watch for wrecks--without Molly. She doesn't like the snow.
ReplyDeleteAren't you glad it snowed?? Makes for great blogging!
Shelley - i know, ive been thinking that yall are just across the street and we should come say hi!
ReplyDeleteHannah - my name is not a secret, you can say it:)
Adra - I went to Russia on a Gospel trip that was part of my Bible Program during January 2006. It was pretty amazing...
