Life is hard. So I've decided to make a resolution. Just one, mind you. Don't want to become too energetic. I have my reputation to consider after all.
I've been wondering what I want this next year to be. And I realized this - I don't want it to be the year I turn 29. Or the year I've only begun grad school. Or the year I haven't exercised in too long. Or the year I'm lonely. Or the year I can't write. Or the year none of my pictures come out right. Or the year I want to run away. Or the year I hide.
2011 is going to be a year for celebrating.
That's right, 365 days of jubilee.
I call it, the Fête.
I call it, the Fête.
Okay, so I've been thinking about this for awhile. Wondering if I'll be able to do it. And frankly, 365 days seems like an awful (too much) lot of toasting. But maybe I need a challenge. (And maybe I'll revel creatively). So today, this blog gets a purpose - to find one thing to fête every day. It can be small, or it can be noteworthy. Most days it will probably be small, because life, I think, is made up of many mundane moments. And we must celebrate or die.
Today, Day One, I am proclaiming a new year, a new beginning, a new blog, and a new start,
by remembering the old:
becca, i love this idea!! rooting for you the next 364 days :).
ReplyDeleteYou have my admiration and support. It will be fun and then at the end of 2011, you can celebrate that you kept the joie de vivre all year long.
ReplyDeleteblogging with purpose...yeah, may we all find some inspiration in the wonderful fact that life has many things if even one to celebrate every day... no matter the day or occasion. :) Cheers to you and a happy new year all year long! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you SO much guys! Your support means so much and I really need it! I am excited and nervous about the next 364 days and so happy to have you all in my life, even if you are far away geographically! :)
