aeropress love.

it's pretty safe to say that the hours between 2 and 6 are

a huge waste of daylight and sleeplessness. 

whenever i'm home, i always get incredibly sleepy during

these hours and all i can think—grumpily—about, is sleeping.

grumpily because i know i can't sleep.

 

but recently, i've fallen in love with my afternoon coffee

from this ingenius coffee press that my brother 

brought us from austin. it's marvelous for the grumpies. 

i've been having a cup nearly every afternoon 

which says something cause i'm pretty lazy

about making coffee in the afternoon. 

this stuff is so worth it.

we introduced my brother and johnny to whole

foods breakfast tacos and jo's on congress, neither

of which he'd had before. unbelievable as that is.

it got a little chilly so i spent most of today, 

visiting old austin haunts like the flagship

whole foods on lamar, jo's on congress, 

home slice, quack's, drinking coffee and

having good conversations.

recipe for a rainy day

a coffee + wellies

today was my first day of spring quarter, 

and of course it rained, 

which meant no morning run for Lars (darn. guess i'll have to try again tomorrow;),

and which also meant a need for another cup of coffee:)

all in all, not a bad first day back. 

the things that count.

today i enjoyed helping with a cookout for a 

church conference.

and enjoying cookies and coffee with friends.

i had a lovely afternoon hanging out with a wonderful friend...

i was supposed to be helping her get their house ready for sale, but 

we spent most of the time eating lunch (yummy red lentils!), drinking lots of coffee,

smiling at the tired tots, and wrapping a present for a birthday party. 

probably the best day of my break! i wish i didn't have to go back to school...

my perfect day begins with

croissant + coffee.

have i celebrated this before? probably. 

i just really love coffee and croissants.

and not the store-bought variety. 

my perfect morning begins at Alon's, 

which sadly, is not that close to my home. 

but, seeing as i'm still on break (for only a few more days), 

i decided to troop over to Dunwoody for some deliciousness.

the rest of my perfect day would involve: 

farmer's markets

walking barefoot on the beach

chucking the to-do list and the calendar

a quick jaunt over to Paris for some more coffee

and a cant-put-it-down book. 

sadly, all of that will have to wait for real life to get out of the way. 

but, coffee + croissants will do until then.
