family restaurant adventure! {a film!}

well we made another little video (you aren't getting sick of them yet are you??;) from our evening out to dinner and dessert in decatur on saturday as a family. if you are subscribed to my youtube channel you might have already seen it. it's a little bit silly. i'm a little bit silly on camera (ugh), but anyways, hope you like it!

we had fun going out on the town, which it seems like we are doing a lot of on weekends these days. it's just so hard to stay home when the weather is being all sorts of wonderful and you have wiggly littles (and wiggly bigs too, let's be honest) at home! i'm not sure if you can tell from the video because i'm pretty sure the most chaotic parts always happen off camera (because obviously no one has an extra hand for a camera when all hands are needed on deck!), but dinner out is always a study in crazy for us. no one wants to sit still. no one wants to eat their dinner. no one wants to be quiet. ;) it's pretty hilarious for me, to be honest. and while i don't usually get to eat most of my meal (hence the to-go box!), it's the best entertainment, and i love it. and also, you never say no to jeni's ice cream. after dessert we stopped into our favorite little bookstore on decatur square, little shop of stories. i've heard they have story times during the week so we need to go one of these days, because it's the cutest little store ever and kid-friendly, which is important these days.

i wish you a weekend full of all your favorite people, ice cream, food and books, too!

first week! yeah!

oh this first week back to school (my last quarter of grad school—or any school, hopefully!) has been a douzy.

but only because we've got a sick pup-pup over here. which is never fun. or you know, sanitary.  i've been up to my elbows in unmentionable. but you don't want to hear about that. no, i'm sure you don't want to hear about the explosion of unmentionable i found in his crate when i got home yesterday. or how i discovered there are many helpful howtocleanunmentionableoutofyourcarpet videos on youtube. you definitely don't want to hear about what happened all over the kitchen after i'd cleaned for about three hours straight.

especially if you're eating. that's when you really don't want to hear about it.

so, i won't tell you. and i definitely won't post any photos about it. ;)

but while we're on the topic of eating (right? that's what we were talking about...right?;), tonight we got to go out and meet some friends at yeah! burger, which i would like better if the veggie burger was a little less mushy, but it's still pretty good, and hey! they were number one in bon appetit in 2010! and it was definitely lots of fun with the friends! is it just me or does the exclamation point make this place seem even more exciting!!


so, yeah! burger:
1 star for organic, gluten-free-, eco- and vegetarian-friendly
1 star for being locally owned (i think?)
1 and 1/2 star for taste
= 3.5 stars

p.s. what's happening to my photos when i upload from flickr? why do they get all grainy like? i swear they are actually bigger than what i've uploaded them at so that shouldn't be the reason... anyone got some blog know-how for me?

it's becoming a busy week and now i can't even remember what all happened this weekend...
good thing we took a few pictures during dinner at tartufo saturday night, so we at least
remember that deliciousness! 

p.s. always get the namesake pizza. oh yum.

Saturday night Izakaya

try a bounce flash for my camera that one

guy just happened to have in his car.

cheese pizza, please.

in our never-ending quest for the perfect pizza

(which i'm pretty sure can still be found at Antico),

we decided to hit up mellow mushroom 

after a grocery run, this evening.

it was nice to be out and about like real people,

but i have to say, it was definitely chain pizza.

i remember liking it better in Austin.

oh well, i'm not going to turn my nose up at pizza!

Based on a Scoutmob coupon, we tried out a restaurant in our area, which wasn't that good, sadly,

but the company couldn't be beat. 

Dinner with two handsome men? Yes, please. :)

as you can see, we were the only people in the restaurant for awhile.
