as i mentioned before, we took a tripod 

out to the beach one night to work some magic.

best vacation ever

an ode to the beach

(or rather, a list).

this week was the best vacation ever. 

we're finally home with our lars, 

making sure he knows he's loved 

(even though he already got a lot of love 

from the grandparents while we were gone).

it's nice to be home, but i'm a little fried 

from our long drive, so hopefully i remember

all of the highlights of our trip:

1. walks on the beach

2. the search for the perfect sea shells

3. making the best sandcastles

4. yum yum mexican food at tower 7

(and pizza and vegan burger and breakfast...)

5. our super (and silly) photo shoots

6. spending time with jazz

7. the sun, the sea, the sand

8. capturing the sunrise 

9. porpoise sighting

10. arguing the merits of calvin&hobbes vs. farside

(c&h wins, of course).

11. getting pictures of lars from home

vacation with jazz =

(almost like) being a kid again. 

i feel so blessed that i have a husband who

likes to do things ... and makes me have fun.

(i get pretty boring when i'm alone).

last night we went on a photo-taking adventure on the beach, 

and practiced our night photography skills. 

then today we built our best sandcastle yet.

we also enjoyed some boogie board surfing

and had a brilliant last day of vacation.

i'm learning to love that jazz can never

sit still, and must always be doing something.

we had so much fun this week.

i don't want it to end...

third anniversary!

(and the beach again)

this has been one of the best days ever.

we got up at five and took pictures of the sunrise, 

had another awesome breakfast, 

made two more sandcastles, napped, 

ate more yummy mexican tacos, took more pictures, 

and decided we liked each other enough

to renew our marriage for another year ;)

i love reading and i love the beach. 

so i really love reading on the beach. 

this beach is so perfect = not crowded, perfect sand,

clear aquamarine colored water, warm sun, cool breeze...

unfortunately, our little pocket-sized canon is 

suddenly sick, so all i have are pictures we took

at a yummy mexican place we went for lunch, and in the room, today. 

but this is what i was reading on the beach:

if our camera ever gets better, i'll show 

the sand castle we made earlier.

i'm so happy!!!!

after 7 hours on the road, we finally got

to Wrightsville Beach, NC today!

It is so wonderful to be on vacation!

just a few pics to celebrate...

and then i'm going to go enjoy some pizza!

(because what's vacation without pizza?)

happy birthday to my dad.

my dad is fifty-three today (i think).

he doesn't read my blog, 

but i'm wishing him a happy birthday, anyway.

here is the shirt we bought and mailed him...

'cause gifts in the mail are such fun!

first night off.

school's out!

for (three weeks)

which is not the same as for summer, 

but i'll take what i can get. 

i think this is the first day i've woken up 

happy, all quarter.  

seriously. i'm happy. ;)

 

another month

June.

i can't believe it's june already...

what i'm looking forward to this month:

1. vacation on the beach

2. a break from school (until the 27th)

3. lots of sitting around, soaking up the sun

4. eating fresh produce

5. green monster smoothies everyday

6. a new reading list

7. visiting friends

8. moving! (hopefully)

9. taking lots of pictures

10. everything tangerine
